Graphic Design Assignment #5

Artist Reflection: Polaroid

1. The strongest technical aspect of my work is that I was able to successfully make the hockey stick appear to pop out of the polaroid frames, making it not seem two-dimensional, like the picture narwal would have been.
2. One aspect that I think could have been worked on is that I probably could've had more photo frames that covered his whole body, rather than leaving some out. But the problem with that would've been I would've had to restart the whole project because the frames that are overlapping another are cut off, partially.
3. The easiest part of this activity was choosing the character in which was going to be the background. Similar to another project our class did, I chose Patrice Bergeron because he is my favorite hockey player.
4. The most difficult part of this activity was trying to fix some of the polaroid frames because when I overlapped one, it would cut over the one behind it.
5. I demonstrated the objective by using the polaroid frames and the lasso tool to make a background seem more three dimensional. I also used the magic wand tool to clear out the inside of each of the polaroid frame. I was also able to change the background and use a different blend mode.
6. If I were to do this activity again, I would've changed the size of the polaroid frames so I could've incorporated the entire body of Bergeron.

1 comment:

  1. Nice use of rotation and the polygon lasso tool to create the illusion of scattered polaroids with something breaking the plane.
